Arkansas freshman Abdou Toure has signed with rapper Rod Wave's Mainstay Sports Agency, ESPN reported. The signing was announced on Wednesday, October 28, as Toure prepares for his first college basketball season in Fayetteville.

ESPN said its sources told it about the agreement before the announcement. The deal brings a prominent recruit into an agency led by Rod Wave, whose real name is Rodarius Macell Green. Its financial terms, duration and services were not disclosed in ESPN's account.

Why Toure chose Mainstay Sports Agency

Green told ESPN that his Mainstay team brought Toure to his attention. After watching the guard's high school highlights, he reached out. ‘I believe he's a superstar talent, and a superstar person,’ Green said in a statement to ESPN. He said Toure's trust in him, and his relationship with Toure's family, made the opportunity a responsibility he took seriously.

Toure said he connected with Green through his AAU program, BABC. ‘He was honest from Day 1 with me,’ Toure told ESPN, adding that Green understood how important family and trust were to him. ESPN said Toure averaged 15.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in his last summer season with the program.

Green also told ESPN that Toure's quiet manner reminded him of himself: he preferred to let results speak for him. On the court, Green described Toure as a player who lets the game come to him but is willing to make a big play.

Toure's path to Arkansas

Toure played at Notre Dame High School in West Haven, Connecticut. ESPN placed him 16th in its SCNext 100 ranking for the 2026 recruiting class and sixth among small forwards. The On3/Rivals player profile separately lists him as a 6-foot-5, 200-pound freshman shooting guard at Arkansas and ranks him 14th nationally in its own 2026 ratings. The rankings use different systems and describe his recruitment, rather than his college results.

He committed to Arkansas in October 2025. Toure told ESPN that coach John Calipari's history drew him to Fayetteville. The Razorbacks are scheduled to open their regular season against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday, November 3, giving Toure his first opportunity to play a regular-season college game after the agency announcement.
