The BMW Ladies Championship is scheduled to return to Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, South Korea, on October 22–25, with defending champion Sei Young Kim and 15 Korea LPGA Tour players in the field, according to Yonhap News Agency. The four-day event brings players from the international and domestic tours together for the tournament’s second straight edition at the venue.

The tournament is a 72-hole stroke-play event with a $2.35 million purse, Yonhap reported. BMW Group said the field has 68 players and there will be no cut, allowing every entrant to play all four rounds.

Sei Young Kim returns to defend her Haenam title

Kim won the 2025 championship in front of friends and relatives, ending a five-year wait for another LPGA title, Yonhap reported. She is from nearby Yeongam, giving her title defence a local connection. Yonhap said she had recorded seven top-10 finishes in 17 starts this season heading into the event.

A successful defence would also set a tournament first: no player has won consecutive BMW Ladies Championship titles since the event began in 2019, according to Yonhap. Kim has 13 career LPGA victories and was ranked ninth in the world in Yonhap’s preview.

Korean tour players join leading LPGA contenders

Ryu Hae-ran is the highest-ranked player in the field at world No. 3, Yonhap reported. The agency said Ryu had won two major titles this season and added eight other top-10 finishes. Kim Hyo-joo is also entered after two tour victories and four further top-10 finishes in 2026, according to Yonhap.

The 15 Korea LPGA Tour entrants include Kim Min-sol and Seo Kyo-rim. Yonhap reported that Kim Min-sol, a 20-year-old rookie, led that tour’s money list and Rookie of the Year points, while Seo led its Player of the Year standings. Seo had won four Korea LPGA events this season, compared with Kim’s three.

For a Korea LPGA player who is not already an LPGA member, a victory would carry another consequence: eligibility for LPGA membership. Yonhap reported that a qualifying winner could take up the card immediately or defer it until the start of the following year.
