Ducks get through 15-hour travel day with NFL RedZone and card games
The Anaheim Ducks had a travel experience to forget trying to get to the New York area for their Eastern Conference road trip this week. The 15-hour ordeal involved changing airports and charter planes and plenty of time spent sitting on the tarmac. Hockey lifer coach Joel Quenneville watched football — a lot of it. Rookie Roger McQueen and some of the younger guys played cards. The Ducks quickly moved from being annoyed by the delays to not wanting to use them as an excuse.
They hope it's a bonding experience that will bring them closer together as a team.
