Erdem Mustafa, 35, has been named by police as the man shot dead at the Sun and Woolpack pub on Hertford Road in Enfield, north London, on Monday, 19 October. The Metropolitan Police have renewed an appeal to identify a person shown in a CCTV image as detectives investigate the killing; no arrests have been made.

What police say about the Enfield shooting

Officers were called to the pub at about 9.30pm, LBC reported. Police attended with the London Ambulance Service and London鈥檚 Air Ambulance. Paramedics treated Mustafa for gunshot wounds, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is leading the investigation, said detectives were keeping an open mind but believed the shooting was a targeted attack. He acknowledged local concern and said police wanted to hear from anyone with information, however small. Police have not established a motive publicly.

Police appeal over CCTV image

The Met released an image of a person detectives want to identify and speak to in connection with the investigation. Police said they could not tell whether the person was a man or a woman, or whether they were wearing a disguise. The image does not establish that the person was responsible for Mustafa鈥檚 death.

LBC reported the CCTV release on Tuesday, 20 October; the Evening Standard reported the renewed appeal after Mustafa was named. Detectives are asking people who were in the area to provide information or CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile-phone footage that could help establish what happened. Enquiries remain ongoing.

Chief Superintendent Anna Mccartney, who leads policing in the area, said extra officers remained nearby to reassure residents. She said detectives were working to find those responsible for Mustafa鈥檚 death. The police appeal asks anyone with information to call 101 and quote CAD 7050/19OCT26. People can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
