Falcons sign veteran Dalton as QB depth behind Penix and release Rush
The Atlanta Falcons have signed veteran quarterback Andy Dalton and released backup Cooper Rush. The Falcons announced the moves on Monday following Sunday's 31-23 loss to Chicago. Philadelphia released Dalton on Oct. 9 after he threw an interception on his only attempt as Jalen Hurts’ backup. The 38-year-old Dalton was acquired by the Eagles from Carolina, where he made seven starts in three seasons, on March 18. Rush was 0-2 as the Falcons' fill-in starter to open the season.
