Iowa Republicans in battleground House races vote to halt Iran war

Two Republicans in closely contested congressional districts in Iowa switched their votes on an Iran war powers resolution to halt President Donald Trump’s ability to continue military action without lawmakers' approval. One of them is Rep. Zach Nunn and he recently campaigned alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Nunn and Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks voted with five other Republicans on Tuesday for the resolution.

The Republican defections come before the November contests that will decide control of Congress and overlap with soaring fuel prices and low public approval for the conflict.
