Ireland to host England at Aviva Stadium in 2027 Women’s Six Nations

Ireland will host England at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on Saturday 8 May in the 2027 Women’s Six Nations, confirming a return to the ground where a record crowd for a women’s match in Ireland watched the home side this year. The England game is Ireland’s fourth fixture of the championship and its second home match.

The confirmed venue gives supporters a clear answer after Ireland’s first Women’s Six Nations appearance at the Aviva Stadium in May 2026. That match ended in a 54-5 win over Scotland before 31,294 spectators. England, the reigning champions, will be the visitors for Ireland’s next championship match at the Dublin ground.

Ireland’s England match follows a record Aviva crowd

Ireland captain Erin King called playing at the Aviva Stadium last season an ‘incredible and landmark experience’ and said the squad was excited to return. She pointed to the support the team felt at the Scotland match and said Ireland wanted to strengthen its connection with supporters and bring more people into what she called its ‘Green Wave’.

King had anticipated another Aviva fixture immediately after the Scotland win, according to a contemporaneous Irish Examiner report. At the time, she said she expected the team to be back the following year but did not know which match would be staged there. The new fixture announcement answers that question: Ireland will play England in Dublin, while France will visit Galway.

When and where Ireland’s 2027 fixtures will be played

Ireland begin away to Scotland at Murrayfield in Edinburgh on 10 April. Their first home match is against France at Dexcom Stadium in Galway on 17 April. They then travel to face Wales in Cardiff on 24 April, before the England game in Dublin on 8 May. The campaign ends away to Italy in Parma on 15 May.

The Irish Examiner’s 30 September fixture report gives the England kick-off as 2.45pm Irish time and the France kick-off as 2.30pm. It lists Ireland’s other starts as 5pm against Scotland, 12.30pm against Wales and 12.15pm against Italy. Ireland’s home fixtures will therefore be split between Galway and Dublin. Belfast’s Affidea Stadium, which hosted Ireland’s win over Wales in the 2026 tournament, will not stage a Six Nations match in 2027, BBC Sport reported. The Belfast ground had hosted championship matches for the previous three years. For the coming campaign, the announced home opponents are France and England.

The two home visitors finished ahead of Ireland in the 2026 championship. England won an eighth consecutive title, France placed second and Ireland finished third. Ireland lost to both England and France that year but beat Italy, Wales and Scotland. Hosting the top two finishers gives the 2027 home schedule a clear sporting context, although the fixture announcement says nothing about next year’s results.

King said the matches against France and England gave the squad motivation to produce occasions and performances that would inspire supporters. Her comments followed the record attendance against Scotland, but that figure describes the 2026 match alone.
