Laneway skips Perth and Adelaide: the sideshows fans can still catch

Laneway Festival acts Fontaines D.C. and Jane Remover have announced February 2027 sideshows in Perth and Adelaide, with Tiffany Day also playing Perth. Reported on September 30 Australian time alongside the festival lineup, the dates give fans in the two omitted cities a chance to catch some of its artists locally.

The announcement covers five headline shows, including Fontaines D.C. arena dates with Gurriers supporting at both. Promoter Handsome Tours describes the band’s Perth and Adelaide appearances as their “biggest Australian headline shows to date”.

Which Laneway acts are playing Perth?

Perth has three announced headline dates across two venues, according to Rolling Stone Australia’s sideshow report. Fontaines D.C. play first, followed the next evening by Jane Remover; Tiffany Day’s show comes the following week. All three performances are scheduled for February 2027.

When do Laneway sideshow tickets go on sale?

According to Rolling Stone Australia, sideshow presales begin at 11am local time on Thursday October 8, 2026. General sales follow at 11am local time on Friday October 9. The times apply locally, so Perth and Adelaide buyers should use the clock in their own city.

The festival itself has a different ticket timetable. ABC’s triple j reports that festival general sales start at staggered times on Thursday October 8, following a presale on Wednesday October 7. Festival ticket dates should therefore not be used as the sale schedule for these separate headline shows.

Rolling Stone’s sideshow report provides the individual dates, venues and sale times. Handsome Tours also confirms the Fontaines D.C. arena shows in Perth and Adelaide on its homepage, although that listing does not set out the detailed sale conditions. Ticket prices, booking fees and presale eligibility are not specified in those reports.

Why is Laneway skipping Perth and Adelaide?

The festival’s absence from the two cities was already public by August 25, when ABC reported the reduced route. September’s development is the lineup and these sideshows, rather than a new decision to remove Perth and Adelaide from the festival itinerary.

In the statement quoted by ABC in August, organisers pointed to the demands of taking the festival across a large geographical area: “Running so many shows, so close together, across so much ground is a logistical feat we’re proud of, but it also asks a lot of our lineup and crew.”

Organisers said taking a pause would let them concentrate on the festival while creating room for artists to bring headline shows to cities outside its stops. Their reassurance was that this “isn’t goodbye, just see you soon”. The report did not give a confirmed year for either city’s festival return.

Where is Laneway 2027 happening?

The four-stop festival route begins at Sydney’s Centennial Park on February 12, then visits Brisbane Showgrounds on February 13 and Melbourne’s Flemington Park on February 19. It finishes at Auckland’s Western Springs on February 21. The Queensland stop moves to Brisbane after a year on the Gold Coast.

Fontaines D.C. and Hayley Williams lead the festival bill. ABC reports that The Hayley Williams Show brings the Paramore vocalist’s solo project to Australia for the first time. Other announced artists include Slayyyter, ADÉLA, Kim Petras, MUNA, Rachel Chinouriri, Ninajirachi, Rico Nasty and DIIV.
