Lisandro Martinez called for more investment in Manchester United’s squad and criticised the club’s hierarchy after Tuesday’s 2-0 Champions League defeat at Atletico Madrid in Madrid, according to BBC Sport. The loss left United winless in five matches across all competitions, AFP reported.
What Martinez said about United’s squad
BBC Sport reported that Martinez expected more from technical director Jason Wilcox and argued that United needed to strengthen the squad after qualifying for the Champions League.
AFP reported that Pablo Barrios scored inside the first minute for Atletico and Ademola Lookman added a second after United’s Leny Yoro was sent off.
