Nick Kroll will host and executive produce Amazon’s US version of LOL: Last One Laughing, Deadline reported on October 20, 2026. His appointment gives the American edition of the international comedy format a host, while its cast has yet to be announced. The show brings performers together to make one another laugh while keeping straight faces themselves.

Amazon greenlit the US version earlier this summer, with Fulwell Entertainment producing, according to Deadline. Kroll will executive produce through his Good At Business company. Ben Winston and Emma Conway are also executive producers, alongside Eric Pankowski, who will serve as showrunner.

How Amazon’s Last One Laughing works

The format puts 10 comedians and comedic actors together for six hours. Each tries to make the others laugh without laughing themselves, Deadline reported. The cast will be announced later; the report did not give a premiere date or production schedule. Those casting choices will determine who faces Kroll’s straight-face challenge in the US edition.

Kroll said he had enjoyed watching the format abroad. ‘I have loved this show in other countries and cannot wait to get the funniest people in the US together and watch them not laugh,’ he said in remarks quoted by Deadline. ‘This format is pure joy and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.’

Jenn Levy, head of nonfiction at Amazon MGM Studios, described Kroll as well suited to lead the series. ‘Asking people not to laugh around Nick feels almost unfair,’ she said in remarks reported by Deadline. Her comment points to the host’s role in a contest built around performers trying to keep their composure.

Kroll’s comedy work and the international format

Kroll’s official biography says he co-created, writes, produces and performs voices on Netflix’s Big Mouth. It also lists him as creative executive producer of Kroll Show and says he played Ruxin on The League for seven seasons. The Amazon series adds hosting duties to a career that has included performing and producing comedy.

The US show joins versions hosted by Jimmy Carr in Britain, Rebel Wilson in Australia, Jay Baruchel in Canada, Eugenio Derbez in Mexico, Trevor Noah in South Africa and Graham Norton in Ireland, according to Deadline. Kroll’s appointment identifies the host for Amazon’s edition; the performers he will oversee remain to be named.
