PS Plus October games confirmed: what we know about F1 25’s DLC

PlayStation Plus will offer F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 as its October monthly games, Sony announced on its Brazilian PlayStation Blog on September 30. Subscribers can add them from October 6 through November 2, 2026, with the selection subject to regional differences.

The unanswered detail concerns F1 25: Sony names the racing game but does not explicitly include its 2026 Season Pack. EA distinguishes that expansion from the base game and sells a separately named Season Edition combining both. The October announcement does not confirm which 2026 content, if any, comes with the subscription offer.

Which October PS Plus games are on PS5 and PS4?

Sony’s announcement, written by Adam Michel, its director of content acquisition and operations, lists F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896 for PS5. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is listed for both PS5 and PS4. For PS4 players, that makes World Brothers 2 the only title in this announced trio carrying their console’s label.

F1 25 is described as the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. Sony highlights Career and My Team 2.0, including taking control as a team owner. Online racing also includes an F1 World mode in which friends compete together against computer-controlled drivers.

World Brothers 2 takes the Earth Defense Force series into a voxel world under attack from giant enemies. Players rescue characters and assemble a team of four from those collected. Its multiplayer options include four-player online cooperation and two-player local split-screen on both listed consoles.

Does F1 25 on PS Plus include the 2026 DLC?

Inclusion remains unconfirmed. Sony’s listing calls the game F1 25 and describes its 2025 championship content. It does not name either the 2026 Season Pack or the 2026 Season Edition. That omission leaves a question about the offer; it does not conclusively establish that the expansion is excluded.

EA’s May 29 product guide explains the distinction. The 2026 Season Pack adds the new season to an existing copy of F1 25. The 2026 Season Edition bundles the base game with that content. EA scheduled both products for worldwide release on June 3, months before Sony’s October lineup announcement.

The difference covers more than a season label. EA says the 2026 content introduces Audi and Cadillac, updated driver rosters and rules, active aerodynamics and Overtake Mode. It also adds Madrid’s MADRING circuit, which EA says can only be driven with the 2026 cars.

EA lists support for the 2026 season across Driver Career, My Team, Grand Prix, Time Trial, Split-Screen and Unranked Multiplayer. Career players must start a new 2026 save: custom teams and career saves from the 2025 season do not transfer. Those are expansion features and restrictions, not confirmed contents of October’s PS Plus offer.

The Season Pack’s requirements include F1 25, game updates, an internet connection and an EA account. Those requirements explain how the expansion works, but they do not settle what Sony will grant subscribers. Neither Sony’s announcement nor EA’s product documentation explicitly resolves that entitlement.

When to claim October’s games—and September’s

October’s window opens on Tuesday, October 6, and closes on Monday, November 2. Ahead of that changeover, Sony says members have until Monday, October 5, to add September’s Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes to their libraries.

Sony also lists a Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack arriving on October 6 as part of its HorrorFest promotion. Other announced extras include a Call of Duty: Warzone horror pack on October 1 and an Overwatch 2 Q3 Draugr-themed pack on October 7. The accompanying terms say the base games are required to access those packs.

For the monthly games, Sony warns that the selection can vary by region and directs members to the PlayStation Store on launch day for details. The regional listing when redemption opens, or an explicit clarification from Sony or EA, is the next place to check whether the F1 offer includes the 2026 expansion.
