Sony Interactive Entertainment said on October 21 that its PlayStation Pulse wireless headset will launch on November 19, 2026, in the United States, United Kingdom and other selected countries. Priced at $99.99 in the US, it gives PlayStation buyers a lower-priced option than the existing Pulse Elite. Preorders open October 29.

PlayStation Pulse prices and preorder times

Sony lists recommended retail prices of $99.99, £89.99, €99.99 and ¥15,980. The headset comes in White and Midnight Black. Preorders begin October 29 at 10 a.m. local time through PlayStation Direct, where available, and participating retailers; US orders through PlayStation Direct begin at 7 a.m. Pacific time. Engadget reported that the US price is $50 below that of the Pulse Elite, Sony’s earlier planar magnetic headset.

Sony’s launch list covers the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. Sony said it would announce release dates for additional countries later.

How the new headset fits Sony’s audio lineup

The launch schedule updates Sony’s September 15 announcement of its next headset lineup. Engadget reported that the Pulse has larger planar magnetic drivers than the Pulse Elite. Sony says the change produces fuller bass while preserving the earlier model’s clarity, and that the drivers’ spatial accuracy helps players identify directional sounds in games. Those descriptions are Sony’s performance claims.

Engadget reported that the headset supports Bluetooth and Sony’s PlayStation Link wireless protocol. PlayStation Link connects it to supported devices including the PS5, PlayStation Portal, Mac and PC. Sony describes the connection as allowing switching between devices and providing lossless audio with low latency. The microphone also has what Sony calls AI-enhanced noise rejection to reduce background sound.

Sony has also announced a higher-end Pulse Edge headset, which it expects to launch in 2027. The company said more details about that model would follow next year; the November release date applies to the PlayStation Pulse.
