Stellantis announced on October 15 that it plans to invest another ₹4,000 crore in India and introduce 12 Jeep and Citroën products over the next three years. The plan expands its spending and product pipeline in a market where it aims to triple its share by 2030, The Hindu reported.

The new spending comes on top of more than ₹11,000 crore already committed, according to The Hindu. The Times of India put cumulative investment at about ₹15,000 crore by 2030 and said the additional money would be spread over the next three years to support launches, localisation and business expansion.

Jeep and Citroën launch plans

The 12 planned products comprise seven all-new models and five major upgrades. The Times of India said five would be Jeep products and seven Citroën products, with the first launch scheduled for the second quarter of 2027. Those figures describe the planned range, rather than 12 entirely new models.

The Hindu reported that Jeep's plans include a compact SUV, a premium SUV, a large premium SUV and a large premium pickup. Citroën's plans include an entry-level car, a hatchback, a large premium SUV and a large MPV. Stellantis India managing director and CEO Shailesh Hazela described the expanded portfolio as offering Indian customers more relevant choices, according to The Hindu.

India's role in Stellantis exports

Stellantis also wants India to play a larger role in exports. The Hindu said exports currently account for about 30% of Indian manufacturing output and that the company aims to raise the share to 60% by 2030. It reported plans to develop and manufacture left-hand-drive versions of models launched in India, potentially opening more than 50 additional markets.

The company already exports vehicles from India to nearly 50 countries, both reports said. About 95% of engines and gearboxes made at its Hosur facility are exported, according to the reports. The Times of India separately reported a 90% localisation target across Jeep and Citroën; localisation measures domestic sourcing and should not be confused with the export-share goal.

The Times of India reported that Stellantis India grew 35% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the first quarter, while Citroën retail sales rose 68% from a year earlier in that quarter. The reported growth provides a recent sales backdrop for the investment plan, but the company's 2030 market-share goal remains a target.
