Venezia dismissed coach Giovanni Stroppa on October 13 after a 3-1 defeat away to Atalanta left the club bottom of Serie A with six losses from six matches, according to LaPresse. The league's results page confirms the score and Venezia's 20th-place standing.

Stroppa had led Venezia to promotion to Serie A in the 2025/26 season, LaPresse reported. Neither LaPresse nor Reuters reported a successor. Reuters said Italian media had mentioned Paolo Zanetti and Davide Nicola as possible replacements.
