Apple announced on October 27 that its Creator Studio subscription will gain built-in MotionVFX tools for Final Cut Pro for Mac and AI features across creative and productivity apps in November. The update will be free for existing subscribers, giving video editors new effects and expanding AI-assisted work in apps including Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers. Apple did not give a specific November release date.

MotionVFX and Pixelmator Pro in Final Cut Pro

According to Apple's announcement, Final Cut Pro for Mac will include MotionVFX effects, plug-ins, transitions, templates and motion graphics tools. Editors will also be able to open images from a Final Cut Pro timeline in Pixelmator Pro for editing without importing them again. Apple said its Content Hub will add video assets that can be accessed in Final Cut Pro.

AppleInsider also reported more keyframe easing options and support for 23 additional transcription languages in Final Cut Pro. Motion, Apple's motion graphics app, will gain MotionVFX plug-ins for color grading and 3D camera tracking, according to the outlet. Together, the announced changes cover both work on individual clips and the handoff between editing and image tools.

AI features across music, images and documents

Logic Pro for Mac will add an intelligent assistant in beta, Apple said. The company also announced an enhanced Stem Splitter that separates drums and a redesigned Browser incorporating the app's sounds. In Pixelmator Pro, a feature called Generate Fill will let users change selected parts of an image with natural-language instructions. These are Apple's descriptions of features scheduled for the update.

Keynote, Pages and Numbers will gain beta assistants that understand the context of a document, along with Model Context Protocol support for workflow automation, Apple said. AppleInsider reported that the assistants use Apple and OpenAI models. The outlet said the Keynote assistant can help design and refine slides, while the Pages assistant can help draft and restructure text. The three apps will also gain stock video in the Content Hub and new premium themes and templates, according to Apple.

When subscribers can get the update

Apple said the Creator Studio updates will arrive through the App Store in November at no extra cost to existing subscribers. New subscribers in the United States pay $12.99 a month or $129 a year. AppleInsider reported education pricing of $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Free versions of Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform will remain available, Apple said, so the announcement does not make those apps subscription-only.
